Mission Statement

The Heart of Lebanon will advance the movement to establish the Historic Downtown District, including the Courthouse Square as the center of community and economic development by forging connectivity, promoting a vibrant positive image highlighting the historic character, cultivating activities that attract and benefit area residents, visitors, and businesses, and fostering projects that inspire creativity and celebrates the hometown culture of Lebanon, Indiana. 

The HOL received its Indiana Mainstreet designation in 2016 from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs and remained an Accredited Indiana Main Street.

In 2022, The Heart of Lebanon became an Accrediated member of Main Street America, a program of the non-profit National Main Street Center Inc., a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

WHAT WE DO

Create a supportive and collaborative  environment for the small businesses and shops which encompass the square. We are leaders for initiatives that position the downtown as the center of the community and hub of economic activity, while creating a positive image that showcases our community’s unique characteristics.  To help spur tourism and attract new visitors to the the downtown, the Heart of Lebanon plans and hosts signature events. These bring together our community and allow visitors to see all that Lebanon has to offer.
